People Don’t Understand Your Burdens

You’ve seen things most people couldn’t imagine.

Carried weight others will never know.

Even when you’re running on empty, you still show up.

Because that’s who you are.

But…

The Job Is Grinding You Down

It doesn’t stop at the end of your shift.

The adrenaline lingers.

The images replay.

Your body stays tense, even when you’re finally home.

You tell yourself to shake it off, but the weight keeps growing – the long shifts, the impossible calls, the trauma that has no place to go.

You Need Someone Who Understands

You need a place to go when the noise stops… and it’s just you and the aftermath.

Therapy offers a space to set some of that burden down, piece by piece, and begin to breathe again.

This space is for you if you’re feeling:

  • Tired in a way that rest doesn’t fix
  • Haunted by memories you can’t shake
  • Numb, angry, or on edge more than you’d like
  • Stretched thin in your relationships
  • Unsure how to ask for help, but knowing something needs to change

Hi, I’m Sherri

I became certified in First Responder Therapy because you deserve a space that gets it – where you don’t have to explain the dark humor, the exhaustion, or why you sometimes feel shut down. It’s understood here.

I’m Sherri Dragovich, LISW, CFRT, a licensed independent social worker in Ohio and Virginia. Along with traditional trauma and stress therapies, I’m trained in Soul Detective Therapy, integrating both practical and spiritual tools for healing.

I come from this world. I’m the daughter of a firefighter/medic turned 911 dispatcher and a nurse – and a certified 911 dispatcher myself. I know the toll this work takes. I also know recovery is possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re feeling exhausted no matter how much you rest, haunted by calls that replay in your mind, or disconnected from the people who matter most, that’s your body and mind signaling that it’s time for support. You don’t have to wait until things get worse to reach out.

Many of the helpers and protectors I work with are navigating:

  • Burnout and compassion fatigue
  • Unprocessed trauma or flashbacks
  • Irritability, anxiety, or emotional shutdown
  • Strained relationships or isolation
  • Trouble relaxing or sleeping

It’s practical, straightforward, and designed for people who are used to handling tough situations. We follow a clear three-step process:

  • Lay Down the Gear: A safe space to breathe, no judgment or performance.
  • Process the Weight: Structured, trauma-informed care to safely release what’s been held inside.
  • Reconnect and Rebuild: Learn grounding tools, rebuild relationships, and rediscover who you are beyond the badge or uniform.

You set the pace. Some people start by talking about one call, one image, or one feeling that won’t go away. Others need time before sharing details. Therapy isn’t about forcing stories – it’s about helping your nervous system find safety again, one step at a time.

Not at all. It’s one of the strongest things you can do. You’ve spent your career showing up for others – therapy is your chance to show up for yourself. You don’t have to carry this alone.
